#Step 1. Strong Password
You need to set strong password to WordPress login. While installing WordPress, username and password generated by default which can be changed at the time of installing or later on. But remember, use special type of username and password that cannot be guessed easily and remember easily.
Passwords must include numbers, letters characters in upper and lowercase and should not related to your name, birth date etc.
#Step 2. Allow Least Privilege Permission
You should limit the access by allowing least privilege. That means you must not add more administrators to do tasks within the website. You can restrict the privileges according to the roles.
*Note: For multi-site owner, super admin has all the privileges while in single site owner, administrator manages the website.
#3. Install SSL
SSL is the first level of security that has been added to the website at the beginning itself. As discussed earlier, at the time of installation WordPress generates default username and password. It also creates default directory WordPress inside cPanel where all the WordPress directories or files are saved. This directory allows user to access WordPress and its files. You can rename the file for securing your WordPress website.
You can not only limit the access but also limit login attempts. You must have observed in many of the websites, that you cannot try login more than a specific number of times. If you have done so, you will be blocked. So, this can be done with the WordPress website as well.
