It is important to have the information of the server which you are using whether you are a client or the user with root access. Server Information includes all the information of hardware and software which is being used to manage the system. 
Even if you a using a PC to do the daily task then also you can check the details of the system including hardware and software. 
Open cmd in your local PC and run the command ipconfig /all and then hit Enter and all the information will be printed on the screen.
Similarly, when you are using hosting services then also you are provided with the resources to manage your website and its data. These resources are the server configuration that you are using to manage your website and its data.
So, in this article I will mention the steps to check the server information whether you are a shared hosting user or you are using VPS or Dedicated hosting services. 
As a shared hosting user, you will have cPanel to manage the website and its data from where you can check server information and the resources which you get in your hosting package.

How to check Server Information via cPanel?

If you are shared hosting user and want to know the configuration of the server which you are using, then follow the below mentioned steps.
  • Login to cPanel with the required credentials.
  • You will be directed to the feature list page, where you will get list of information on the right panel list.
  • There, click over Server Information to get the the detail information of the configuration of the server.
  • On the next page, list of the all the information related to the server will appear.
From the above image, list of server information including operating system, PHP version, MySQL version, Hosting package and more.
Thus, the above given steps better explains the procedure to get server information as a Shared Hosting user.

How to check Server Information via WHM?

  • Login to WHM panel with the required credentials.
  • On the next page, list of features will appear. 
  • From here, select Server Status and proceed.
  • On the next page, select Server Information to get the server information as root user.
  • On the next page, list of information will appear which is categorize in sections.
  1. Processor Information: In this section, details includes number of processors and their names, speed and cache used.
  2. Memory Information: This section includes information about the RAM.
  3. System Information: In this section, information like Operating system, server name etc is given.
  4. Physical Disks: This section have information about physical disks of the server.
  5. Current Memory Usage: This section explains about the memory which is currently in use. It shows stats of total memory, free and shared memory.
In the above image, you can see the detail information of the server.
