How to Install SSL Certificate on your domain?

SSL is the first level of security that is added to the website. Whether you are using your website for testing or you have a fully working website, SSL certificate is required. SSL certificates not only adds up a layer of security to the website but also it gives user a safe browsing experience. 
Most of the hosting service providers like GoDaddy, Namecheap, BlueHost etc provide SSL services with all their hosting plans. I'm using the hosting services of REDSERVERHOST wherein I'm having free SSL service in my Shared Hosting plans as well.
Today, I'm sharing an article that help you to install SSL certificate on your domain. As I said, Hosting providers provide SSL certificates to all its users which you can install from cPanel itself. Let us go through the procedure to install SSL certificate on your domain from cPanel.
cPanel has enough features to manage the website and its related task. Thus, it has the feature to manage security of the website, i.e. user can install SSL certificates on the domain from cPanel. In the cPanel interface of REDSERVERHOST, users get Let's Encrypt feature that can be used to issue new SSL certificate for the domains.

Install SSL certificate from SSL/TLS Manager

SSL/TLS Manager is the interface that is present inside cPanel which allows user to install and manage SSL certificates for the website. User can use available certificates for the new domain or can add and install any third party SSL certificate. To do the same, read and follow the below given procedure.
  • Login to cPanel and get inside Security section
  • Select SSL/TLS from the list. You can also search ssl in the search bar.
  • On the next page, you will see multiple options that you can use to manage SSL certificates for your domain.
  • From here, you can generate, view or delete Private Keys, CSR, CRT or Install and Manage SSL certificates.
  • To use and install existing SSL certificate which is by default installed from the root server, select the option Install and Manage SSL for your Site(HTTPS).
  • You will be directed to the next page where list of all the domains with their SSL certificate. There are options of Uninstall, Update Certificates, Certificate Details and Use Certificate for New Site given for each domain.
  • Scroll down to Install an SSL Certificate.
  • Click over Browse certificate to get the list of available SSL certificate. (You can also click over Use Certificate for New Site from the above section).
  • Select the certificate from the list and click over Use Certificate.
  • All the details get filled in the sections: CRT, Key, CA Bundle. 
*If Private Key section is empty, then you can scroll up and select the option Use Certificate for New site of the selected domain.
  • Now, click over Install Certificate to install the SSL certificate for your domain.

Install SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt

Let's Encrypt is a feature present inside cPanel interface of REDSERVERHOST that simplifies user task by installing SSL certificates from the server level itself. Let us see the procedure to get SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt.
  • Login to cPanel and get inside Security section.
  • Select Let's Encrypt from the list.
  • On the next page, list of all the domain with their SSL certificate will appear. You can Remove, Reinstall or View any of the available certificate from the given options.
  • Now, scroll down to the section Issue a New Certificate.
  • Click over Issue option related of the  domain for which you want to issue new SSL certificate.
  • You will receive message on successful installation of SSL certificate. 
Thus, you have successfully install SSL certificate on your domain from cPanel. If you are not having free SSL services in your hosting plan then you can install SSL certificate from any third party and manage it from SSL/TLS manager inside cPanel. You can install third party SSL which are free as well such as Zero SSL, SSL For Free etc.
