Many of you are using Blogger to write articles and share your contents on the internet.  Blogger has some features that allows user to customize their contents or blogs by applying Themes and making changes inside Settings section.  You all use these features to improve the presentation of your Blogger posts.  But did you know that just writing effective content would not help you to reach you to the world.  You have to inform Google about your posts and contents. How to do this?


Today, in this article I will share a simple way to tell Google about your site and its pages. This can be done by adding sitemap to your Blogger website.  Read the whole article and to do the same.

Sitemap

A sitemap is a file in which lists of all your web pages are present including videos. This allows you to inform search engines like Google to find, crawl and index your website contents and rank your website in SERP (Search Engine Result Pages).  Sitemap allows you to organize your website, identify its URLs and data in all your web pages.

Create and Add Sitemap for Blogger

It is understood that we need to add sitemap for our Blogger posts.  Now, how to add.  So, to get the answer, go through the whole article.  Follow the simple steps that are given below to create and add sitemap for blogger website.
  • Go to XML-Sitemaps.com
  • Enter your Blogger website address as https://example.blogspot.com and click over Start.
  • Click over View Sitemap details and list of all the URLs will appear.

You have successfully created your sitemap. Now, you have to inform Google about your website.
  • Login to your Blogger dashboard and scroll down to Settings section.
  • Enable Custom robots.txt inside Crawlers and Indexing section.
  • Edit Custom robots.txt as discussed.
User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /
Sitemap: https://blogURL/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500

  • Click over  Save to save the changes.
Now, submit your Blogger sitemap in Google Search Console.
  • Login to Google Search Console and Start Now.
  • In the left panel list, click over Sitemaps.
  • In add a new sitemap section enter the below given text and then Submit.
atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500


You have successfully submitted your Blogger sitemap to Google Search Console.
